- What kind of law do you practice?
I offer a range of legal services to my clients in several areas of law, particularly small business law, security clearance law, construction law, real estate law, government contracts, education law, and administrative law.
- How many attorneys are in your firm?
I am the sole attorney in my firm, but I associate from time to time with other attorneys who have specialized experience in a specific area of law.
- What is the cost of your legal services?
The cost for any legal services can depend on the nature of the case, the complexity of the issues involved, and the experience of the attorney involved. I typically charge an hourly rate for my services, but I am always open to other fee structures for my legal services. For example, some clients prefer to pay a flat fee for certain legal services. Regardless of the fee structure we ultimately agree upon, I strive to give my clients a fair estimate of the cost of the legal services at the initial consultation.
- Do you charge for an initial consultation?
I do not generally charge an up-front fee for an initial consultation. If a client decides to hire me to perform legal services after an initial consultation, I will charge the client for the time spent in the initial consultation at the agreed upon hourly rate. However, if the client decides not to hire me, then the initial consultation is free.
- Do you provide any free legal services?
In the legal world, free legal services are referred to as pro bono services. I whole-heartedly believe in providing pro bono services, and as an attorney practicing law in the State of Colorado, I am required to provide at least 50 hours of pro bono services per year. In my first three years of practicing in Colorado, I have provided over 200 hours of pro bono services. However, this business is how I provide for my family, so I must limit and monitor the pro bono services that I provide. As such, I choose very carefully the cases that I take on a pro bono basis.
